The Almaty City Development Center signed a memorandum of cooperation with the COMMUNITIPLUS public foundation, which has been implementing projects in education, culture, and community development in Kazakhstan for over 10 years.

During this time, the foundation has built a sustainable network of local initiatives and reading practices. One of its key projects is «Auylga Kitap«: through this program, over 17,000 books have been donated to rural school libraries in seven regions of the country. The team also develops a culture of reading through book festivals, book exchange programs, and educational initiatives. These initiatives include courses on developing soft skills and writing workshops, as well as documentary and media projects about people working in education and social change.

The signing of the memorandum opens the possibility of launching joint projects at the city level. These include working with communities, developing educational formats, and supporting grassroots initiatives.

The Almaty Development Center will support this work on the city's behalf as an expert and analytical platform. The Center will be involved in integrating projects into the city's agenda, drawing on data, analytics, and the real needs of residents. A special emphasis will be placed on developing solutions that can be tested in the urban environment and scaled up if necessary.

The partnership is expected to expand access to educational and cultural initiatives in Almaty and strengthen citizen participation in urban development.
