As part of the systematic monitoring of urban projects, the monitoring group of the Almaty City Development Centre visited the construction site of a 300-seat extension to School No. 16 in Almaty.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the actual progress of construction and installation works, compliance with approved schedules and the quality of key construction stages.
The inspection revealed delays in certain types of work compared to the target deadlines. The contractor was advised to speed up the elimination of previously identified issues, increase the pace of production and ensure sufficient staffing at the site.
During the monitoring, special attention was paid to compliance with construction technologies, occupational safety requirements, and the correct implementation of engineering and design solutions. Experts noted the need to adjust certain processes and bring a number of components into line with current regulatory requirements.
In addition, the monitoring group of the Almaty City Development Centre recommended:
• to quickly increase the number of construction personnel;
• to redistribute resources among construction participants, taking into account the current criticality of the work being performed;
• to update the work schedule with an emphasis on priority areas.
All identified issues are of a working nature and are being addressed in collaboration with technical supervisors and design organisations. Monitoring of the elimination of comments and compliance with deadlines will be carried out on an ongoing basis.
The project aims to create additional student places and improve learning conditions, which is one of the priorities for the development of the city's social infrastructure.
